Your Voice, Your Choice

November 3rd is just around the corner - it’s time to let your voice be heard! 📣

Whether you’re voting for the first time or have been marking your ballot for years, it’s more important than ever to exercise your right to vote. If you’re not sure how to make your voting plan, or why you should participate - we’re here to guide you!🤗

Why Should I Vote?

First thing’s first - your. voice. matters. You have the power to influence who sits on your local school board, who represents your district in the House of Representatives, and who represents all Americans as President. In order to ensure that your voice is represented in the results of the election, cast your vote and use your voice!

How Do I Vote?

Most United States citizens 18 or older are eligible to vote! If you’ve never voted before, head to Vote.gov to register to vote. Using their super simple dropdown menu, select your state or territory for info on how to register to vote, how to check your registration status, and important deadlines to keep in mind.

Important to note - if you’ve changed your name, moved within your state, or moved out of state, you’ll need to re-register to vote. Check out this link for more info!

Once you’ve registered to vote, it’s time to form your voting plan - will you be voting by mail or voting in person? Make sure to check out your state or territory’s rules on voting by mail, because they vary. Check out I Am A Voter’s site to get ready to vote by mail and to sign up for election reminders!

When Do I Vote?

Once you’ve decided whether you’re voting by mail or voting in person, you can form your voting plan. If you’re voting by mail, make sure to follow the instructions on your ballot and to turn in your ballot before the deadline! If you’re voting in person, make sure to double check which polling place you’ve been assigned. Check out this link for more info!

How Do I Encourage Others to Vote?

Now that you’re all set to vote, it’s time to encourage your friends to join you! Check out Headcount’s helpful tips on how to talk about voting with your friends and family.
